Director Farhan Akhtar thinks the format is perfect for the sequel
Shah Rukh Khan's 'Don 2', with its slick trailers and cool vibe, has been creating quite the buzz in T'town. Part one was a huge hit and expectations are high from the sequel, both directed by Farhan Akhtar. And the team behind the movie is geared to deliver - that's why 'Don 2' is going to be in 3D!
Producer Ritesh Sidhwani said about the decision, "There is a huge demand for the brand 'Don'. Also, our audiences must be expecting much more and beyond just cinema from the sequel so we thought of the 3D format. We did a few 3D conversion tests on 'Don 1' and the conversion outcome was very good. So, while shooting 'Don 2', the 3D conversion was at the back of Farhan's mind in case we decided to go ahead with it. We knew it would make the experience even more memorable and exciting to watch for the audience."
Ritesh added, "I was in LA recently and saw some 3D conversion tests and was blown away by it. So we decided to go ahead and convert 'Don 2' into a 3D format."
'Don 2' releases December 23 and will also be dubbed in Tamil and Telugu. Meanwhile, if SRK's 'RA.One' also has a 3D touch, as it being speculated, the star might well be the King of this new-for-Bollywood format. Watch this space for updates!
